Trust & safety
Scams are the reason people hesitate to buy from a stranger in a group chat. We cannot eliminate them, but we can make the same scammer harder to run twice.
What the badges mean
- Unclaimed
Nobody has confirmed this listing. We compiled it from information the business posted publicly. Reviews, payment details and bookings stay off.
- ✓ Verified
We sent a code to their phone and they entered it. Confirms a working number, nothing more.
- ✓ Business
We checked business registration or a physical premises. A real, findable business.
- ✓ Partner
Verified business that pays for the Partner badge. Same checks as Business — paying does not buy trust, it buys the badge and placement.
How reviews work
- Only accounts that tapped “contact” on a vendor can review it. Not perfect — but it stops drive-by reviews from people who never dealt with them.
- Vendors cannot review themselves, and cannot delete reviews they dislike.
- Response rate is shown publicly, so a vendor who ignores messages cannot hide it.
The scams that keep happening
The cargo deposit
A "cargo agent" offers pickup at well below the going rate and asks for a deposit by personal transfer. Deal only with operators who have an address you can visit and issue a receipt with a tracking reference.
The job processing fee
A job offer with no interview, then a request for a processing or placement fee. Legitimate employers never charge you to be hired.
The half-price pasabuy
Someone collects money for a group order and disappears. Pay on collection where you can, and be wary of anyone with a new account and no history.
The rate that is too good
A remittance rate far better than everyone else. Licensed operators cannot beat the market by much — a big gap means the money is not going where you think.
What Meron Dito does not do
We do not take your payment, hold it, or release it. Money goes directly from you to the vendor. That means we cannot refund you, and it also means there is no pot of your money for anyone here to run off with. Verify who you are paying before you pay them.
Report a listing
Misleading prices, wrong halal status, a scam, or a business that should not be listed — tell us and we act. We are required to remove non-compliant listings and we keep records of what we removed.
